Jira Inbound Integration

The ilert integration for Jira helps you to easily connect ilert with Jira.

Jira is an issue-tracking product developed by Atlassian that allows teams to manage, track, and prioritize their work. It's extensively used for bug tracking, issue tracking, and agile project management. Jira provides customizable workflows, real-time collaboration capabilities, and a variety of integrations with other tools, making it a popular choice for development teams and project managers in various industries.

With the ilert Jira integration, you can create alerts in ilert based on Jira issues.

In ilert: Create a Jira alert source

Go to Alert sources --> Alert sources and click on Create new alert source
Search for Jira in the search field, click on the Jira tile and click on Next.
Give your alert source a name, optionally assign teams and click Next.
Select an escalation policy by creating a new one or assigning an existing one.
Select you Alert grouping preference and click Continue setup. You may click Do not group alerts for now and change it later.
The next page show additional settings such as customer alert templates or notification prioritiy. Click on Finish setup for now.
On the final page, an API key and / or webhook URL will be generated that you will need later in this guide.

In Jira: Create the webhook

You need admin permissions to manage Jira webhooks.

Go to Jira and then to System Settings:

Click on the WebHooks and then on the Create a WebHook button to add a new webhook for ilert

On the next page, in the section Name field, enter a name (e.g. ilert). In the section URL field, paste the Webhook URL that you generated in ilert. In the section Issue choose created, updated and deleted events.
